Proudly Announcing: The *NEW* Jennifer Leigh Photography

A few months ago, I announced on my blog and over social media that big changes were coming to Jennifer Leigh Photography.  Over the next week, I am going to reveal ALL of them to you!  And I could not be more excited to finally reveal all the hard work that has secretly been taking place over here since May!
The first big announcement?  Jennifer Leigh Photography has completely rebranded and has a new logo and website to show for it!

LOGO

Choosing a new design for a logo was no easy task.  After months of research, I had created a handful of lists that describe my photography, hone in on what my creative eye finds appealing, and identify the many aspects of me and my personality in both my professional and private lives.  I used these lists to come up with elements that would best visually describe my brand...and voila!  A new logo was born!  I love it!

WEBSITE

Simultaneously while using the lists I created to help me decide upon a logo, I also used these lists to help me create the visual aspects of my new website.  I knew the exact elements I wanted - the colors, the feel - but how to make that vision into a reality?  I searched long and hard to find one heck of an amazing designer - Andrea Rubash - who listened to every little detail of my vision, and together, we created a new home sweet home for Jennifer Leigh Photography!

This website is a one-stop-shop for all things JLP.  It showcases my portrait and wedding work, houses my blog, gives you an introduction to who I am with or without a camera in my hand, and links my viewers to all my social media and my clients to their web galleries.  I cannot get over how much I love this site.  I am so proud to finally be able to show it off to you!

Please take a few moments, explore the new home of Jennifer Leigh Photography at www.jenniferleighphotography.net, and experience for yourself all the hard work and passion that has gone into the full overhaul of my brand.  Please also use the social media icons (located both in the top right corner of the website and the footer) to connect and follow along with me on my journey - both professionally and personally.  I'd love to see you on my Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest sites, and I would also love for you to subscribe to my new blog!

I really appreciate you sharing in my joy today with the launch of the new look and home of Jennifer Leigh Photography, as well as sharing in my passion for photography - and life in general - EVERY DAY!  And I look forward to seeing you back at the new home of my blog during the next week for more exciting announcements of good things to come!  You won't want to miss them!

Images For A Cure 2012 is here!

It's that time again!

I was tickled pink when I received an email from Kristen Weaver announcing that photographer registration for the 2012 Image For A Cure campaign was open!  This amazing organization is made up each year of a few hundred photographers from around the country, campaigning to raise money for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation®.  So far, IFAC has proudly raised nearly $40,000 for the foundation...and I am so happy to have been a part of that!

As of this morning, my registration is complete!  This year marks my 3rd consecutive year as an Images For A Cure photographer...and I am looking forward to using my time and talent to make a difference in the lives of women!

In a few weeks, I will be releasing information on my exclusive mini sessions.  Just like the last two years, 100% of your session fee will be donated directly to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® by YOU!  Yep - that means you will have the opportunity to have some beautiful images taken while supporting a great cause!  Does it get any better than that?

Stay tuned for more information...coming your way soon!  And if you'd like to be one of the first people contacted with the details about this session, please email me at jenniferleighphotos@yahoo.com to get on my contact list.  I look forward to connecting with...and photographing...you!

LaToya & Family {Jekyll Island portrait photographer}

While LaToya currently lives and works in the Atlanta area, she still maintains her strong ties to the Golden Isles.  And when she was last in town, I was thrilled to meet her and her fabulous five at Jekyll Island's Driftwood Beach for a sunset session.

However, I don't think I was exactly prepared for just how fabulous this group would be!  It was about mid-session when we transitioned from group shots to individuals...and the personalities started coming out!  Each and every one of LaToya's clan rocked this session, right down to the little man!  It was my pleasure to both photograph and share in some laughs with this beautiful family.

Enjoy a sneak peek into our time together!  Can you tell we had fun?

This mom has got it going on!

And then...this happened...

Which, of course, inspired this...

Aren't they a beautiful bunch?

Bridgette & Avery {Charleston wedding photographer}

Two of the best things about my job as a photographer are working with many incredible people and traveling all over the country to photograph them during some of the happiest moments of their lives.

I was so excited to have the opportunity to photograph a wedding in Charleston, South Carolina, a few weeks go.  And one thing is for sure - Charleston was a gracious host to Bridgette & Avery on their wedding day!  The weather was picture perfect for their outdoor wedding at the incredible Harborside East, a gorgeous venue which served as both the ceremony and reception locations.

I hope you enjoy this brief sneak peek into the beautiful connection between the new Mr. and Mrs. Peake, as well as the beautiful venue and sights that made their wedding day extra special.

A big thank you to all the wonderful vendors who came together to make Bridgette & Avery's wedding day a beautiful beginning!

Proudly Announcing: We're Having A... {My Life}

For almost twenty weeks, we have been patiently awaiting to learn the gender of our growing little human.  So when Candy of Candace Hires Photography came to us with a plan to capture this exciting step in our journey to becoming parents, we quickly said, "Yes!"

I have to give my husband some big time credit.  Taking part in a gender reveal photo session wasn't exactly the most manly of things he could have done this past Saturday...nor was holding a massive bunch of balloons.  But he's an amazing husband and daddy-to-be.  Isn't he just the handsomest?

So without further ado, we are proudly announcing that we are expecting a sweet little baby GIRL, due January 2013!

We are just over the moon about her!  She's beginning to make her presence known, as my belly begins to expand, and I have begun to feel her move around.  In fact, the morning of our photo session, Jason was able to feel her little kicks for the first time.  She's definitely the active one when we peek in on her during the ultrasounds, and she is as healthy as can be.  We're looking forward to seeing her again in a few weeks.

I hope you enjoy this sneak peek into our session!  We look forward to sharing more images with you during the last half of our journey.  Thank you to all who have expressed so much excitement about our little baby girl.  One thing is for certain, when she arrives, she will be loved!

A Session with Team Dotson {Jekyll Island portrait photographer}

Boy, do I adore the Dotson family!  After our very fun portrait on Saint Simons Island in 2011, I was so stoked when they asked me to photograph them again this year!

Not much has changed - Shannon and Mark still look fabulous, the boys still love cars and have gotten a little bigger, but Mark debuted a much shorter, spunkier cut after donating his ponytail last year for a good cause.  And speaking of hair, the whole family showed up to their shoot with some amazing styles, thanks to Mark being a professional hairstylist based in Atlanta!  (Look him up at Salon Ten80! He regularly travels to Saint Simons Island to pamper his growing clientele there.)

At the beginning of our session, we met on Jekyll Island's Driftwood Beach, where the boys loved searching the sand for crabs.  We then traveled to the other side of the island, where the Courtyard at Crane's gardens never disappoint.  The sun was picture perfect and cast a beautiful glow behind an already beautiful family.

Enjoy this sneak peek from my session with Team Dotson!  I can't wait to see and photograph them again!

 Is it just me, or do these two look like they're up to no good?  :)

Caroline & Russell {Jekyll Island engagement photographer}

Several weeks ago, I received the sweetest email all the way from the U.K.!  Russell explained he and Caroline, his girlfriend of over 7 years, would be traveling to Jekyll Island for a long holiday and was interested in having a portrait session.  But this would be no ordinary portrait session - on Caroline's birthday, Russell was going to propose, and he wanted me to capture the moment!  How exciting!

Two weeks ago, the big day arrived, and early in the morning, the three of us made our way to Driftwood Beach.  I'm not sure who was more nervous...Russell or me!  When he felt the time was right, Russell asked Caroline to sit down, as if he were staging our next shot, then knelt down and popped the big question to a very surprised and happy Caroline!  What a joy to be a witness to such a heartfelt moment and capture it all with my camera!  Russell did a wonderful job designing a beautiful custom ring for Caroline, and she apparently thought so, too, because she just couldn't stop staring at it!

Congratulations, Caroline and Russell, as you begin this exciting new chapter of your life together.  I am so honored to have been such a big part of this new beginning and wish you a lifetime of happiness and much love!

Russell takes over...and Caroline looks a little suspicious...

She said YES!

And a new chapter begins...
