Shannon & Anthony {Wedding}

I recently had the honor of photographing the wedding of the new Mr. and Mrs. Stevens, held in the beautiful Howard Gilman Memorial Waterfront Park in historic St. Mary's, Georgia.  This couple went all out to celebrate the beginning of a new chapter in their life together.  Angela Height of Angela's Touch and Design and her staff did an amazing job with the decor design and wedding coordination.  Everyone who attended had a wonderful time.

Best wishes, Shannon & Anthony, for a life filled with much happiness and love!

Kylie & Chris {Wedding}

Two weeks ago, I was honored to be a part of Kylie and Chris' very intimate wedding held on a beach on Saint Simons Island.  Kylie is an amazing photographer from New York, and her husband, Chris, is currently serving in the Coast Guard.  I only spent the day with them, but it was easy to see that they were definitely made for each other.

Kylie and Chris wrote their own ceremony and stood inside a large heart modeled from sand (built by Kylie's brother) as they said their vows.  It was a simple, beautiful, heartfelt ceremony, in which the love Kylie and Chris have for each other resonated and drew in many passersby on the beach...even people on bicycles!  After the ceremony, it was a short walk back to the Ocean Lodge Resort for an intimate reception in one of the suites.

Many congratulations to Kylie and Chris!  Best wishes for a beautiful life together!

Wind {IHF}

It's been a while since I entered a photo submission challenge, but this week's "Wind" challenge over at I Heart Faces reminded me of one of my all time favorite kid photos.

Meet Miss G, who was playing in her backyard on a very windy January day.  Her ponytails caught up in the breeze, and I snapped this image of her during one of the only moments at the session when she wasn't running around, the free spirit that she is.  I love the juxtaposition: lively hair, calm Miss G.  And those eyes!  All in all, one of my favorite photographs.

Boudoir: Part Two

The art of boudoir photography is a very tricky one.  It comes down to one thing for me: light.  Whether natural or produced artificially, light - and possibly even more important, the absence of it - is the one key element to creating much more than a portrait.  Using light and shadow to sculpt both your subject and the message you are trying to convey on her body is a very delicate art.  Any small movement can change the whole landscape of the image and can sometimes create an even more stunning image.

Below are additional images models I worked with in Jacksonville two weeks ago to create a variety of portraits, all with different styles of light.  I don't prefer any one style over the other - I love the challenge of making them all work.

Enjoy!
